breathing in the void
Walter’s desire is not bound to the original perception of the surface of things, but to the search for the invisible. An analysis of the beyond where the universal energies and the breath of matter accompany him on a journey towards the secret of Everything. The elements of his compositions, devoid of special, spatial references, find their position in an “emptiness” that does not correspond to a simple layering of painted canvas, but to a supernatural light that is able to gel symbols, colors, and living matter.
He takes us back to primordial atmospheres, almost macroscopic magnifications of living forms that on the one hand, recreate the informal style of Jean Dubuffet and Jean Fautrier, but on the other hand, allude to a very personal bond with a reality that probably becomes even more intense in relation to his desire to perceive its essence.
